The original Humble High School (on Higgins Street) opened in January 1918 for the 1917-1918 school-year. The campus was located at 511 Higgins Street, in Humble. It was on the opposite side of the block from the Humble Grammar School.

"Impossible is Un-American" was the motto of Humble High School, and appeared on each page of the 1918-1919 Yearbook.

In February 1930, the students and staff moved to a new building, Charles Bender High School. The original Humble High School building was torn down in 1954 to make way for a new gymnasium at Charles Bender High School.
